What a week! Finally received the official word that the appraisal on the new house is good to go, right in time for Nana to arrive. She was the first person other than Matt and I to see the house. She is thrilled to have a bathroom connected to her future guest room. Don't worry Nana, the room rate will increase accordingly. Now, we will ask for at least one coffee cake AND chocolate chip cookies!!
Zach had been sick most of the week and we kept both boys home from daycare because Zach was spiking fevers of 101.5 on and off from Sunday through Wednesday. Now, they are both just very whiney, which I blame on 2 year molars.

I hope he is able to make it. He was at the townhouse when we put up the mezuzah here and I would LOVE for him to help put it up at our new home!
Here's a picture of us signing for the townhouse in 2008:
And putting up the mezuzah while my grandfather and dad were visiting ... and yes, that is baby Meigs!!!!!
Here are the 20 month memories:
- Bottles: 4 sippies, three are WCM (whole cow's milk) & one is 1:4 apple juice to water. We tried switching to 2% milk to see if we would have less constipation issues, no such luck. Back to WCM.
- Schedule: 1 nap per day, average 1.25 hours.
- Food: Chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, breaded fish, cheese sticks, toast, waffles and all snacky food are current favorites. No huge improvements, but they are learning to say "NO" to something if they don't want it, instead of us giving it to them and then they throw it.
- Movement: Running, crouching, standing up without help ... they are everywhere!
- Clothes: Same Same ... 18-24 month tops &12 month pants (barely)
- Diapers: Size 5.
- Fine Motor skills: We "think" we are coming to a close with OT, which is GREAT news!! Still working on scooping with a spoon and full hand actions, like crumpling paper.
- Gross Motor skills: All is good! We are slowing helping them to walk up the steps, holding one of their hands. We have yet to practice going down, though on two or three steps, they know to go down backwards.
- Language: Huge improvements here!! With speech therapy and a speech video we watch 5 times per week, we have a much larger word list!
- Teeth: 16 each ... but I think their 2 year molars are on the move and causing pain :(
- Interaction: They are starting to follow short tasks (go to your chair for milk, bring mama a ball), they are pointing with their whole arm and starting to maybe think about using a single finger.
- Mommy: No official working out since there is way too much going on otherwise, but holding steady. Work is insane since I am covering for a coworker out on medical leave.
- Daddy: Daddy has not been enjoying the summer thunderstorms at work. Still working overtime about two times per month and towards the end of the year, six-day weeks will likely resume.
- Early Intervention: We are doing speech therapy and occupational therapy weekly. Our insurance covers them with a copay and even if we stop weekly OT, we will probably do a bi-monthly check in to ensure we are still on track going forward!
And with all that kitchen counter space, we can have a whole assembly line of coffee cakes and cc cookies! The house is beautiful, and I am just thrilled for all FIVE of you :) Love, Nana
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your future house. Our toddlers are in eary intervention, speech therapy, physical therapy and OT too. It was fun to read about your kids' milestones. They are doing great! Thanks for linking to Multiples Monday on Capri + 3. It is always great to see you.

Saw your link on multiples mom. So nice to see another mom with twins the same age as mine. Good luck with the move. I know it can be so stressful... I've moved 4 times in the last 11 months and have one more move next month :)
