The past week has been fairly productive. First, I passed the glucose test! Second, even though it was 90+ degrees outside, Matt still painted the nursery. A few spots to touch up, steam cleaning the carpet and we'll be ready to begin crib assembly. Slowly, it's all coming together! Still need to determine curtains and I'll need some current mommy advice for this, since one of the cribs might be near the window and potentially reachable by little fingers.
The baby pool guessing has begun! There is a link at the top to guess for Baby A & Baby B (Note: this is what the pool calls them, we haven't come up with names, though we still have suggestions from friends -- Thing1/Thing2, the Latkes, the ABies - Baby A/Baby B, M&M's, Gefilte Fishlets. We can't wait to see what everyone thinks.
In the past week, we've gone from Matt being able to feel the babies kick, to seeing my tummy move where they are kicking! It's crazy!
Another ultrasound was today and laying on my side made it much smoother. The babies have turned transverse and baby B (with the lower heart rate) was kicking his/her sibling in the face most of the time! They are both almost 2 lbs and growing right on schedule as a singleton would. We will try to post a picture or two, but neither was too cooperative for a good picture. OB visit scheduled for early next week for the final yay/nay for Dallas.. We are starting to research pediatricians & in-home daycare providers. I think the baby to-do list might be longer than the wedding to-do list.
The only sad news of the week is that the crib bedding that we've been waiting on since July is backordered until December. Very sad ...We are currently looking for another set to match the one we already have.

Week 24
By Cyndi
September 22, 2010
This week has gone by fairly quickly! Actually, the past month has ...
Matt adjusted his work schedule to be able to attend Kol Nidre & Yom Kippur services. Good thing he did, because on Friday night, during Kol Nidre, I started to get kicked and it was a little stronger than normal. I whispered to Matt to give me his hand and finally, after 3 weeks, he felt one of them!! Most of the movement is coming from the one on my right side, a few times during the day and then starting around 9pm at night.
I also had a scheduled visit with the doctor. Said everything looks fine, heart beats were a little higher than the previous readings because it was during the gestational diabetes test. I had to drink 10oz of sugar water flavored like fruit punch and then a blood draw. Tasty?!! As far as "the end," the doctors will do everything they can to prevent labor before 34 weeks and won't let me go past 38 weeks ... so if all processes normally, the big day will be between my birthday & Christmas.
Next doctor appointment is the week of our (well my) hopeful travel to Dallas for Michael & Ashley's wedding! Michael is a fraternity brother of Matt & Matt is a groomsman in the wedding.
What else ... Another ultrasound next week. Hopefully I can lay on my side for most of it so I don't pass out! Matt is going to start painting this week - we will post pictures as soon as we have some of the nursery ready. And we are going to start meeting with in-home daycare providers and pediatricians. The to-do list is not getting any shorter!

Week 23 in Sweet Home Chicago ...
By Cyndi
September 13, 2010
A picture tells a thousand words ... We had a great time in Chicago ... saw most of our family & friends ... Matt & I say thank you to everyone for spending time with us & for your generosity!
And somehow, we missed a picture of the rest of our Purdue friends including the boys ... oops!
While looking through my baby boxes, I found this:

Week 22
By Cyndi
September 7, 2010
How Far Along: 22.5 weeks
Total Weight Gain / Loss: 22 lbs (or thereabouts) ... on track per the doctor ...
Maternity Clothes: Yes & all the time! Really, you think I could wear anything from before, with this belly??
Sleep: No change from before ... up at least 3 times/night to pee & turn over. Oh, and then there are those late night snacks of fruit loops! I've even woke Matt up a few times crunching.
Best Moment of the Week: Watching Matt & Michael run the Virginia Beach Half Marathon. I hurried to catch the sunrise at the beach and saw them each three different times on the course.
Worst Moment of the Week: Ummm ... starting to feel more tired from carrying around this belly.
Food Cravings: No change. I'm enjoying it all ... especially ice cream.
Movement: Yup ... getting a few punches and kicks during the day and more when I lay down. Matt hasn't been able to feel them yet, but hopefully he will soon!
Belly Button In or Out: I do NOT want to discuss this. I still consider it an innie, but if it decides to make an appearance, I will refuse to answer this question.
What I Miss: Bagel with lox ... though, I wouldn't mind microwaving the lox and enjoying it that way. Yes, I am fully aware it sounds weird, but as a child, I wouldn't eat raw fish (or what I perceived to be raw), so I would microwave it for a few and voila!
What I am Looking Forward to: CHICAGO!!! And fresh challah for Rosh Hashanah!
Milestones: Baby's now the size of a papaya! Baby's settling into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when, just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop.

Week 21 ... the fun continues ...
By Cyndi
August 30, 2010
As you can see from my last post, I am looking quite pregnant and I still have 12+ weeks to go! I am starting to slow down and not walking as fast, but I am still able to keep up with most everything. The next two weeks will be busy around the Alderson household. Michael (Matt's twin) arrives on Saturday. We are headed to Virginia Beach for the night for Matt & Michael to run in the VA Beach Half Marathon! I'll do my best to find them on the course at least once to take a few pictures. The following weekend we will be in Chicago for one last visit before I am on a no travel list by doctor's orders, along with Rosh Hashanah services here and at my dad's synagogue.
We had another ultrasound today and let's just say it didn't go as well as the first (for ME). Within the first 10 minutes I thought I was going to pass out. The technician paused about 6 times during the 45 min session. It will only get worse as I keep growing ... oh joy! BUT, the babies are both 15 ounces and looking great! Sorry but no good pictures from it ...
Thanks to all who voted in our poll! It is fun to see what everyone thinks what we will be having! Only time will tell ....
Your Baby at Week 21: At 21 weeks, your baby is the size of a cantaloupe, and approximately 7 inches long. Weighing about a pound seems pretty big, but he’s still got a long way to go to get to his birth weight. His brain is doing some serious growing too, and will continue to grow until he’s 5 years old!
