2.20 Daddy do ... Mommy do ... do do do do do

By Cyndi
April 30, 2013

Mommy do ... I do by myself ... rinse and repeat over and over again!  When I was asked recently by Saba what new things they were doing, the only thing I could come up with is repeating everything and anything.  They want to do everything themselves or ask for help and then change their mind!  It is so interesting to watch them string words together and start to learn to talk in sentences.

And to think, a year ago, they didn't have a single word and didn't walk yet!!!

Now, they are inquisitive, running everywhere ... So incredibly glad we did therapy a year ago to help them get back on track!!

Zach is back to normal, minus a pound or two he lost by not eating for 3+ days.  He's back to eating more than Tyler so I am sure he will gain it back quickly.

We spent an afternoon at a local farm.  They had a great time!!!

We attended a fundraiser event at our temple and the boys loved the beach balls (which we could bring home) and thoroughly enjoyed playing with the trees.

I have also decided that now since I'm not commuting as far, I have time to get back in shape.  Plus, T&Z refuse to willingly eat vegetables, so I need to find a way to hide them.  Enter: SMOOTHIE making.  pineapple, greek yogurt, banana, berries, chia seeds, spinach, ice & a little water.  I will report back how it goes!

And of course, a visit to a park ....

2.19 I like lists!

By Cyndi
April 22, 2013

Sorry for the lack of picture filled posts, but life has been fairly eventful over the past month.  I'll summarize with a bulleted list:
  • I quit my job.
    • Yes, you read that right!!
    • After over 1.5 years of looking, I finally found a great opportunity, outside manufacturing.
  • I found a new job!
    • It is in business process consulting.
    • Yes, the "consulting" part worries me, but it is a company that does local consulting in the DC metro area and is headquartered 20 minutes from my house
    • My commute when from 70+ miles per day to less than 50!!
  • Sickly-ish kids
    • We finally got their two year shots and had a feeling we would have some type of reaction.
    • First was Tyler with a fever last week
    • Now, Zach is battling something, not related to shots, running 101F+ fever for a few days.  Ugh, its hard to wake up to a kid who looks so sad and wimpers when he coughs.
    • After 3.5 days of eating close to nothing, we took him to the pedi Monday morning, where they did a nebulizer treatment and told us to continue to use the inhaler.  Within 8 hours of the treatment, Zach was perking up and actually ate a few crackers.
    • Today, Zach went back to the doctor who said he sounded much better and hopefully will get the rest of the gunk out of his lungs on his own.  When I saw him this afternoon, he really looks like he lost weight.  Poor guy ...

  • I'm getting a new sister in law!  Sweet!!!  Matt's twin brother Michael proposed to his girlfriend over the weekend.
    • Let me replay the conversation  Cyndi - "How'd he do it"   Matt - " Uhhhh, he didn't really say".  Thanks Matt, I'll call Lanie myself for the details since you boys suck at that!
So that about sums up why life has been fairly busy, settling in to my new job, and dealing with the guys.  Thank goodness for Matt's bank of sick leave, since I can't be asking for time off yet.

Men ... already learning to take reading material or "toys" during bathroom time!

The tree in our front yard .... pretty flowers!!!

2.18 Animal House

By Cyndi
April 16, 2013

This will be quite short as my little animals are keeping me quite busy ...

We had professional pictures done a few weeks back (when the Cherry Blossoms were supposed to be in peak bloom but were delayed due to cold weather) and she has shared a few with us ....

2.17 Spring has finally arrived!

By Cyndi
April 8, 2013

I have been waiting 4+ long months for spring when we would take the boys outside to burn off energy.  It has finally arrived, HURRAY!

I haven't talked much about the guys development lately, but it is progressing normally.  Matt and I have just noticed they are stringing more words together ("Help put on shoes, Daddy" vs. "Help shoes")  They are both expressing their feelings and giving attitude.  They ask for chicken nuggets at every meal, breakfast included.  They are able to go up a few stairs without holding onto anything.  We are working on them putting their clothes on also.

I have been considering lately a whiny corner in the house since excessive whining is just too much sometimes.  Tyler is more whiny than Zach, for sure.

I present Exhibit A:

Otherwise, we have been keeping busy and having fun.

We also had spring pictures a week ago, which were supposed to be with the cherry blossoms, but they decided not to bloom until this week, so we ended up with some fun monument pictures.  Once we have more of them I will post, but here's a sneak peak of their outfits!

Last, but certainly not least, we tested out their new scooters tonight!  They LOVED them!!  Tyler kept testing the waters at each driveway as he wanted to go into the road, but they did great.  It helps that they have played on scooters at daycare in their big gym for a few months.

2.16 Passover is still going ...

By Cyndi
April 1, 2013

Oh one more day and it will be over.  I have to remind myself that it is only 8 days and we will survive. My dad came for a visit and brought enough food to feed everyone for weeks!  We enjoyed a few of his treats!

The weather hasn't been too warm and spring-like yet so we haven't been able to have any backyard fun.  Just fun indoors ...

They have also realized the a bucket can be fun, until they see how close they are and someone gets hurt!

We were able to get in one walk while Saba was in town.  I forsee many more wagon rides in my future!  Though, I think they have learned that I mean business when I say "No Kicking or you will have a timeout" (on the side of the road next to someone's bush) since Zach was the first to experience that a week ago!

Some brotherly love at breakfast!!
