Well, the time had to come when we would have another boo boo requiring emergency medical care. If you're keeping track, Tyler was up to 3 emergency visits (pneumonia, hives, limp) and Zach has somehow stayed clear.
Well, Tyler is now up to 4. He took a nasty fall yesterday at school while riding the bike and ran into the table. BeanTree actually called and asked one of us to come because it was a decent amount of blood near his mouth. Since Matt was home, he went over. Bottom lip was swollen, top two teeth slightly pushed back but not loose, and he wasn't crying. Matt asked him if he wanted to go play with Zach or come home and Tyler opted to stay!
That night, I finally got to see him and was fairly worried about how much the front two teeth moved. They were now mostly inline, instead of pushed out from sucking his thumb. We decided to figure out a local dentist and Matt made an appointment this morning, for this afternoon, so I could join.
Tyler was pretty friendly with the nurse and even opened his mouth nice and wide. But once the dentist arrived, we had no such luck. We held him and he allowed the dentist to open and look. We tried for an x-ray, but their machine to read the results was being worked on, so they will call us tonight or first thing tomorrow with any news. The dentist feels that most likely all is fine, but there is a small chance of root damage or slight damage to his adult teeth. Since the bones in kids are still forming, we are lucky that the movement should hopefully have no ill-effects.
And because he did such a good job, he got to pick some prizes to come home with ... bracelets, lizards, pencils ......
