1.49 Thankful ...

November 19, 2012
By Cyndi

I begin writing this post the day after World Prematurity Day where I am reminded of so many of my muliple mom friends who have been through much more than us and I should be thankful.  So as I try to not focus on the negatives .....

I am thankful for
  • Matt.  He gets to be first (no question on that!).  The boys & I are so lucky to see what an awesome father he is!  He has worked 6 day weeks for 40+ weeks this year and not one complaint.  He took care of two newborns all morning, had 1 hr before work and still no complaints.  And he deals with me!
  • My guys ... while there are many many tough moments, they want and need me for the essentials, snacks and fresh diapers!
  • Family, though after this coming week, they may not love us anymore, once our kids terrorize their non-baby proofed house!  I was taught by my mom & dad that family is important and we will continue to instill that in our kids as we make it a point to take them to see family.
  • Friends, near and far, old and new ... they never cease to amaze me with their generosity, kindness, and thoughts.  From cookies after moving into the new house, birthday gifts for the boys when we aren't having a party, compliments on how the boys are doing.
Now all seriousness aside, I am really thankful for
  • Trader Joe's cookie butter and mini chicken tacos ... if you've never had them, do yourself a favor and go there, NOW.  Typically I am not a trend starter, but I suggested cookie butter to some MoM's and now its a house staple for many :)
  • Good beer & Matt's bartending skills when I need a good drink
  • Sleep and my kids staying in their cribs until almost 8am every Saturday & Sunday
  • My hair dresser who always does a great job without any direction from me
  • Bagels and cheerios, since they make breakfast with T&Z peaceful
  • T&Z are fairly healthy, except for the past month with flu, pneumonia, strep & a 2nd ER visit, this time for hives ..... yes, you read that right.  That was the Sunday afternoon excitement in our house.   Tyler woke up from his nap with hives and his face swollen, so off we went.  Some Benedryl & a steroid and he was fine, jumping around until we were released.  They said it was most likely virus related and just how his body is trying to rid of the virus.
  • My kitchen is officially finished after 3 months of scheduling snaffus ... now off to figure out paint colors and bathroom renovations!
  • The school photographer that must have drugged my children to create the masterpiece below!

  1. LOL! Love the fact that a hospital bed is not putting a damper on your baby's moves
