3.21 Mother's Day 2014

The past week has been interesting!  We have been hanging curtains in the kitchen and family room.  While walking down the stairs last Wednesday, I was thinking about which way to swoosh the curtain near the front door, missed the bottom step, and rolled my ankle.  It hurt, a lot!  After screaming obscenities and Meigs wondering what I was doing, I scooted on the floor to my phone and called Matt at work.  I went to the ER that night and after x-rays, was told that there were no fractures, but to use crutches and leave the splint (seen below) on until I see an orthopedic.

Matt had the lovely job of driving the kids and I to school and work Thursday & Friday.  Saturday morning, Daniel and Jill (Chicago wedding #2 in just a few weeks!!) came to help from the time to boys woke up to their nap time.  Matt used sick leave on Sunday since I was bearing some weight but still walking very awkwardly!  Fast forward to Monday afternoon's orthopedic visit with more x-rays; no fractures, but lots of ugly bruising and a sprain.  Now I am sporting a lovely, non-vented walking boot up to my knee.  I am walking without crutches and will probably be in this for 1-2 months plus some physical therapy.  Lesson learned,  no daydreaming about curtains!!

Back to Mother's Day ... it was quite nice!!  Matt was home to help all day with the boys, tons of yard work and enjoyed dinner with the Isaacs!  Sorry not too many pictures.  The cards below were made at school and some of the first artworks to include the boys practicing writing their names!!  (Tyler is upside down and back wards)

And here is my effort to get a picture with the boys.  Tyler insisted on sitting in the middle and I had to show the progression because it cracks me up!!
