4.17 Spring ... yay!

Over 300 posts and now, over 40k views!

Saturday ended Passover which was nice.  I didn't feel too long, but was nice to eat whatever I wanted out of the pantry instead more matzoh.  We went out to dinner, which is a rarity for us ,and the fellas did fairly decent.  We taught them tic tac toe and they were getting the hang of it when our meal showed up.  Of course, they didn't eat anything.  I ordered them a side of sour cream and they smeared that on a tortilla, rolled it up and enjoyed.  Ugh, I still stress about their eating but I know it does me no good.

The weather has finally realized it is spring and followed through.  My tulips bloomed and I love that each day they "wake up" and open.  On Sunday, I worked out before the fellas got up and got to look at them the entire time :)  Later Sunday morning, we had a great playdate at a local park for over 2 hours with a boy from their class.

The fellas took a good nap and Matt was able to mow right when he got home from work while the fellas were still quiet.  We spent the afternoon outside as it was just too perfect not to enjoy.  By 530p, the boys were fairly exhausted and it was time to head in for dinner.  Ahh ... I love spring!

4.16 Passover

April 6, 2015
By Cyndi

Welcome Spring!!!  My tulips are almost blooming in our backyard and the weather is finally feeling like spring.  This also means Passover is upon us.  My planning this year was a bit lacking as my head was full of work stuff, but even with an emergency text to Matt at 10a on Saturday (we did 2nd Sedar at the house) for Matzoh Ball soup mix, all was manageable.

The Isaacs joined us and yet again, we were very distracted by the kids, but still able to almost finish our four glasses of wine!  The kids loved the masks and wind up frog (must get more for next year since that was a good 10min of quiet-ish play at the table).

The search for the afikomen was interesting as Zach tripped and hit his forehead on the lego table (followed by a HUGE bump).  Luckily he kept running around with an ice pack and his hair is long enough to hide the quarter size bruise.  The prize this year was silver dollars ... which went over poorly.  I guess my kids don't understand that they can buy something at Target Dollar Spot with that ONE coin.  Maybe that is because they only ever see me use credit cards or rather boxes just appear at our door!

5 more days of matzoh .....

4.15 Air & Space ...... and #300!!!

March 31, 2015

Wow ... #300!  It feels great to still have this going even as many other things change in our lives.  I haven't been keeping up with our yearly photobooks, but I need to figure out how to fit that back in.
Work has been extra crazy as multiple people are out - unplanned - so we are short staffed and I'm, of course, lending an extra hand to help out.

On Sunday, I went into DC in the morning to meet some of my twin mom friends.  It's funny that post #300 and seeing my support team coincide on the same week.  These ladies help me realize that I'm not the only one going through this or that.  So we had a playdate with a friend and her boys from Las Vegas along with another local girl and her family.  Try to get 6 kids with airplanes everywhere to stand still!!

The fellas did a good job walking 6 city blocks to and from the museum and were fairly decent listeners while inside.  I'm thinking I will take them to Natural History soon since I don't remember the last time I as there and the fellas keep asking to see dinosaur bones!

On Monday, I raced out of work at 5p to head to dinner with these awesome ladies!  They keep me sane and I appreciate their support (along with the rest of the ladies in our group)!

4.14 Jamaica!

By Cyndi
March 25, 2015

We came home ... mostly to see Meigs, because vacation was fabulous, who would want to return?!

Nana arrived in town and took care of Meigs while we were gone.  We had a mediocre internet connection while there so we had some updates to keep up on his progress, but otherwise, we weren't online much.

So let's talk vacation ... it was great!  This resort is perfect for babies to elementary school as each room comes with a nanny from 9-430p each day.  Our nanny, Miss Stacy, was perfect for us.  She kept the kids happy and busy, giving Matt and I time to relax and do some activities on our own.

The room had a living space and a bedroom so we the fellas could go to bed around 8pm and we wouldn't disturb them when we in came later.  The nannies were also available after hours for a very reasonable rate!  So we used her 4 of our 5 nights to have an adult dinner and some beverages at the bar each night.

They had multiple pools and the fellas found one with a small cement slide that they could do all on their own and they played for hours!  They also did crafts each day which they enjoyed.  The adults did some kayaking, swimming in the ocean out to the blue mat and enjoyed many beverages!

The food was okay.  It wasn't anything amazing, but since I don't eat many things and somewhat picky from there, I didn't eat anything too adventurous.  Zach ate fries for lunch and dinner for 4 days straight.  Tyler ate a hamburger bun covered in ketchup!  Oh, and ice cream at least once per day!   But for the benefits of the nanny and kids entertainment, it was perfect!

Overall, the vacation was great!  We have many lasting memories and the perfect amount of fun & relaxation!  We hope to go back another time when the kids are 6 or 7 to enjoy it again!!

4.13 Downhill until Vacation

By Cyndi
March 18, 2015

After we returned from the Carmeans, things started to go downhill one thing at a time.  First was that we realized our house sitter, who stays at the house while we are gone so Meigs has company, decided to have some friends over and stayed in all of our beds.  And that includes MY BED.  They used my toothpaste and the list goes on and on with about 10 things that was amiss around the house. To say the least, we asked someone else immediately to be at the house for our upcoming week long vacation.  She never fully admitted to what happened and we won't be using her again to house sit or babysit the fellas.

Then Zach got sick with diarrhea which resulted in being out of school for an entire week while we desperately tried to get his digestion back under control as vacation was quickly approaching.  He was still questionable up to 48 hours before departure!

Work was very rough during this time too and while I can't go into the details, my stress level was through the roof.

And to top it off, as Zach started to be on the mend, Meigs started having diarrhea!  Ugh, poor guy couldn't even make it to the back door fast enough.  We tried everything with 36 hours to go until departure, but with it not improving at all, we called for reinforcements and flew Nana out at last minute so she could stay with Meigs.  I didn't feel right leaving Meigs alone while our house sitter was at work during the day and luckily it was Nana's Spring Break so the timing worked.

So at 9pm Nana booked at flight, we finished packing to leave the house at 545am for Jamaica!

4.12 Friends ...

By Cyndi
March 9, 2015

After 9 inches of snow on Thursday, we hit the road Friday afternoon for PA to visit the Carmeans.  The fellas were SO excited to visit them as were Matt & I.  Its always so relaxing and fun for everyone.

We hung out Friday, enjoyed a play place Saturday along with baking hamantashen for Purim and home by early afternoon Sunday for more relaxing. The ride home was spent thinking of things we need to pack for Jamaica since we leave in 10 days!!!!

By Cyndi
March 8, 2015

I'm a few days late, sorry!  Work has been quite stressful and I just didn't find the time, so here I am, better late than never.

Last weekend we celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary!  We celebrated as we have every year  with Lou Malnati's pizza and enjoyed a quiet afternoon while the fellas played on their ipads!

Perfect day!!
