Week 26

By Matt
October 5, 2010

As a guest blogger, I will try to make this run-of-the-mill week's recap as lively as Cyndi. The nursery painting, with touch-ups, is now complete and the assembly of the cribs has commenced. One crib's frame is built and today I shall do the same with the second. The room's setup may have to be modified from the Engineer's original specifications - we need about a 2 foot extension on the room for the 2 cribs, 2 dressers and a glider plus ottoman to fit the way we had envisioned it. So now I will have to maneuver large items of furniture around a confined space until the Engineer will sign off on the work. Can't wait.

In other baby news, the twins have been practicing their WWF moves in the womb - maybe we can refer to them as the Bushwackers? To anyone who understands this reference, my brothers and I am proud of you.
Cyndi scored some nice toys and other items at a local consignment sale over the weekend. She brought everything into the house and put in on the main level to allow Meigs to smell and hear all the noises that emanate from the toys; he seemed okay with it all. I keep trying to tell him how different things will be when the twins arrive, but I don't think he's paying attention.

As Cyndi mentioned in the previous post, the twins are now transverse, meaning they are both laying horizontal. I was telling this to Todd and Stacie a few hours after learning of this information, but I said "traverse," not knowing the difference. Stacie looks at me funny and says, "Um, I think you mean transverse. Isn't traverse a car?" Ha, shows what I know.

Lastly, for some good news:
We had a doctor visit yesterday specifically to have the OB clear Cyndi for travel this weekend for a wedding in Dallas. After looking at the stats from last week's ultrasound and making sure Cyn was feeling fine, we got the all clear! We then asked for a note to bring with us to the airport in case airline personnel give us any issues. OB writes it out, gives it to us, and as we are trying to decipher the words, he tells us what he wrote and then says, "I purposely wrote it really small so hopefully anyone who asks for it will just look at the signature and wave you on." Needless to say, we like this guy.

Here's a few pictures from the ultra sound last week:
