This past weekend, we took a 36 hour trip to NY and back to celebrate a Bat Mitzvah with my family. It was the first time most of the Gimpels would meet T&Z, along with our first road trip!

The drive up was perfect. 4.25 hours of driving and a 45 min stop for breakfast. We checked into the hotel, enjoyed the luggage cart rides, took a swim in the pool and then it was naptime. Hotel sleeping went well, except we were in a suite and the bathroom only had access from the main room. So we had to tiptoe and hope the guys didn't wake up. Saturday was the service, at which I personally think T&Z were VERY well behaved. One of the ushers asked me to leave (while I was already standing near the door) and I said No, I will leave once my cousin is done. They were making an OH and an AH every 2 minutes and not that loud. Okay crazy usher, we left after she finished her torah portion, fed snack and went back in for the last 15 minutes.

| Luggage cart = free entertainment for about an hour! |
The party was so fun. T&Z only napped about 20 minutes in the car, but with all of my family & cousins helping entertain them, they lasted through the entire party without a single whine! Matt & I were able to eat, grab a few drinks at the bar & enjoyed catching up with family. The drive back was not so pleasant. They slept for the first hour and then were unhappy and overtired for the next 2.5 hours. Let's just say, were so glad to be home after an hour plus of straight crying.

| Val (2nd cousin), Jess & Hillary (1st cousins) ... |
Hopefully it won't be 1.5 more years before we see everyone again! And we better, since many of them volunteered as babysitters and we WILL be taking them up on their offer since 3 of them are in college and less then 2 hours away!
Now ... on to the "business" ... we have official 1.5 yr olds ... SCARY ... here's the latest:
Here are the 18 month memories:
- Bottles: no change since last update ... 4 sippies, three are WCM (whole cow's milk) & one is 1:4 apple juice to water.
- Schedule: 1 nap per day, average 1.25 hours.
- Food: As mentioned in the last blog post, they are doing better. Chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, breaded fish, cheese sticks, toast, waffles and all snacky food are current favorites.
- Movement: At 16 months, no walking ... at 18 months, they are running!
- Clothes: Same Same ... 18-24 month tops &12 month pants (barely)
- Diapers: Moved up to size 5.
- Fine Motor skills: We are now stacking square blocks and mega blocks and clapping our hands all day long! They can both use a spoon, but Zach has more accuracy with getting it into his mouth.
- Gross Motor skills: As mentioned above, they are off and running. They have just (within the past week) learned to stand up without needing help from a table or wall. They can also pick up a toy without dropping to their knees.
- Language: Still lots of babbling, but we have a few words: ball, cheese & down. They have mimicked Uh oh and shoe, so hopefully we will get those more often now.
- Teeth: 16 each ...
- Interaction: Clapping is too easy for them now. We are still working on pointing. They have started to have temper tantrums. When one starts to cry, the other one will follow suit for absolutely no reason. Awesome times!
- Mommy: I have one more week of "freedom" and then I'm back to working out 6 days a week. I want to lose another 10 lbs. Please support me :)
- Daddy: Daddy has been enjoying a cold beer outside lately .... oh warm summer nights!
- Early Intervention: We are doing speech therapy and occupational therapy weekly. If you look back to where we were two months ago, 16 month review, you will see we are seeing tons of growth. We are going to keep with it!!
